Preview and send a proposal
About this task
You can send a proposal after you have completed all the required fields for each quote (every quote included in a proposal must be complete) and you have managed all applicable Underwriter Checklist items.
If the effective date of the submission is backdated, and you do not have the authority to send a proposal for a submission backdated to that date, Underwriting Management notifies you that the submission has outstanding Letter of Authority checklist items. You must refer the submission before you can send the proposal.
Procedure
- In the navigation sidebar, click the Proposal Sections of the proposal you want to send.
- Required:
Ensure that the proposal contains all of the sections and documents and only the sections and documents that you want included in the proposal.
You cannot add or remove sections or documents from the preview. You can include or exclude sections and documents from the PDF; however, excluded sections and documents are still included with the proposal, as separate attachments.
- Optional: Add additional cover letter comments if necessary.

Click Send Proposal.
This opens a preview; it does not immediately send the proposal. You will have the opportunity to make changes before actually sending the proposal.
- Optional:
In the Proposal review window, make changes as needed.
- Drag and drop sections to change the order of proposal sections.

Use the add icon (
) to add sections from the Additional Documents area.

Use the detach icon (
) to move sections from the proposal to the Additional Documents area. Items in the Additional Documents area are still part of the proposal; they are simply sent in a separate email rather than being included in the PDF. If you want to remove any document or section, you must click Close and go back to the previous screen.
- As you change the sections and documents, you can click Preview to see an updated preview.
The preview on the right is a standard PDF window with standard PDF tools including download and print. -
Once the proposal is complete and correct, click Send to send
the proposal.
If you want to go back and make changes, click Close.
- Select if you want to send a standard, custom, or no email notification.
- Optional: If you select Yes - Custom, a standard email window opens. Complete the email and click Send or Save Draft.
