Unbind coverage

About this task

If you have the required permission, you can unbind coverage that you have bound (only until a policy starts the issuance process). You may want to unbind coverage if you bound a policy in error or received additional information about the submission that invalidates the policy that you bound. If multiple-quote proposals are enabled and you have bound multiple policies, the Unbind action unbinds all the policies. The ability to unbind coverage is often restricted because the Policy Administration System does not support the notion of unbind. If unbinding is not allowed, you must cancel coverage.

Procedure

  1. Select the quote from navigation sidebar.
  2. Click Unbind.
  3. In the confirmation window, select your reason and enter any additional comments.
    • If you select Other, you must enter a reason.
  4. Click Confirm.
  5. Select whether to send a Standard, Custom, or No email notification, and then click OK.
    • If you select Yes - Custom, a standard email window opens. Complete the email, and click Send or Save Draft.

Results
