Use search filters

About this task

The available search criteria differ by panel: Submissions, Tasks, or Recent Activity. For more information, refer to Search filter criteria.

In all panels, the search function works as follows:

  • Each criteria field is an AND search parameter; the search results match all the specified criteria.

  • If there are multiple selections within a single criteria field, each selection is an OR search parameter; the search results match either of the specified options.

Procedure

  1. On the Home page, click the Search icon () in the title bar of any searchable panel.
    The search bar opens below the title bar.
  2. Use the available criteria to form your search.

    • To specify multiple criteria, select another criteria field.

    • To remove criteria, click the X to the right of the field.

    The results update as you refine your search criteria. In addition, the current search filter name is appended with (Edited) to indicate that the criteria of the filter have changed and have not been saved. The Save Filter As drop-down list appears next to the filter name. (This drop-down list is always visible when you are editing a filter.)
  3. Optional: To configure a different set of columns to display in this filter than in your default filter, select the Settings icon and then Configure Columns, select the columns to display as part of this filter view (or deselect columns you do not want to display as part of this filter view), and then click outside the column configuration list to see your changes. If you then complete step 4, the columns you've selected are saved as part of the filter view you are saving.
  4. Optional: Click Save Filter As to save your custom filter for later use, and then type a name for the filter, and click Save.
    The saved filter is available in the list of search filters. When you select a custom filter, the Save Filter As drop-down list always displays. It does not display for default filters until you modify the filter criteria. You can delete a custom filter from this list by selecting the filter you want to delete from the list of search filters, and then selecting Delete Filter from the Save Filter As drop-down list. (You cannot delete default filters. The Delete Filter option is available only for custom filters.)
