Resolve a task

About this task

You can resolve a task when it is complete. You can also set a resolution reason for a task, even when you have not yet resolved it. The resolution reason field is available as soon as the task is created.

Procedure

  1. With a submission open, click the Collaboration icon , which displays to the right of the Actions menu.
  2. Click the Tasks icon.
    The Tasks pane displays any existing tasks.
  3. Click the task you want to resolve to open it.
  4. Select a Resolution Reason.
    You can set a resolution reason for a task without proceeding to resolve it. If you change the Task Summary after you have selected a resolution reason, the reason list is cleared, and you must select a new reason. (Reasons vary by task type.)
  5. Enter any Resolution Notes.
  6. Click Resolve Task at the bottom of the window, and select whether you want to send an email notification that the task is resolved, and click Yes to confirm.

Results

Once you resolve a task, reminders about the due date are canceled, and the task is marked resolved. In the Tasks panel of the Home page, resolved tasks appear only when you have selected Resolved in the Task Status filter.
